About

The Efroni choir was founded in 1981 in Emek Hefer by Maya Shavit, who served as an artistic director and conductor of the representative choir for over 30 years. Over the course of its 44 years of existence, the choir’s accomplishments were impressive, and it is considered one of the leading youth choirs in Israel.

Our vision

The Efroni choir has high artistic standards, and aspires to keep being a leading choir for children and teenagers alike.

Acting as a sanctuary to Israeli production, the choir works with leading artists and musical entities. It represents the Emek Hefer regional council as well as the State of Israel nationally and abroad.

The Efroni choir works to develop the musical talent of its singers by providing them with knowledge and skills, and exposing them to a variety of musical genres, traditions, languages, and cultures while, at the same time, deepening ties with their Israeli-Jewish cultural heritage. This is done in an effort to nurture the future generation of creators and consumers of culture alike.
