Concerts

One of the choir’s goals is to be part of the community life and to contribute to it as much as possible. The choir members regularly volunteer with the elderly and vulnerable groups, together with participating to community events in Emek Hefer or other places in Israel.

The choir takes it upon itself to prepare the future generation of culture and music advocates in Israel, which is why it set in motion, and currently runs, music education programs. The programs that we run expose the youth to high-level, artistic choir singing, and grant them listening and behaving habits to adopt during concerts. In the framework of these programs, the Efroni choir offers guided concerts at schools and kindergartens, after thoroughly training the children on the songs

Singing Emek Hefer

The “Singing Emek Hefer” program’s purpose is to empower and to praise choir singing in the region. By sponsoring elementary school choirs in the area and providing them with professional guidance, the Efroni and Moran choirs set the groundwork for the program. Singing Emek Hefer culminates in a joint performance between the Efroni and the elementary school choirs

Friendships between children and the elderly are significant. Therefore in 2018, Maya Shavit planned a show with the aim of having the Emek Hefer elderly sing and safeguard music from their time. One year prior, girls of the Efroni choir met with the elderly of Emek Hefer. Each encounter included dialog as well as a song dating back to the older generation’s childhood. These encounters were documented and the songs, recorded and arranged. This initiative offered a moving performance during which the choir sang along with the elderly.
